Green: Making Sense of Growing Up

“Green” is an original graphic novel, written and illustrated by me between August 2017 – March 2019. It is an autobiographical coming of age story about my transition from high school into college. This book was completed as to fulfill my graduation requirements for a BA in Graphic Design from American University ‘18. Illustrations are alcohol marker on paper. The cover was illustrated in pen with digital colorization and original hand lettering. A limited edition of 100 copies of Green was printed sold to family and friends. The development of this book was a turning point for me in my work. It taught me vital skills in organization and commitment to long term projects. It was a learning process in consistency and how to combine writing and illustration to tell a deeper story.
